Central Mailing Services were approached in the spring of this year as the University of Oxford had failed to agree terms with a new supplier that they had appointed to mail out their highly prestigious magazine Oxford Today.
Due to the existing relationship between CMS and Oxford University Press, the client felt that we could step in to help them with the mailing without any issue.
The University were already behind with the magazine, and were of course keen to see it land both domestically and overseas as quickly as possible.
We reassured the client that we could meet her objectives in terms of timescales, costs, quality and reporting. Customer service was a very high priority for the client with regular updates required at all times.
The mailing is very involved, as it requires a poly wrapped magazine to be sent with a further 12 inserts, to a 175,000 UK and overseas database, split over a number of different sections. A number of the inserts are only sent out for certain sections too.
The client had agreed, extremely competitive rates with the previous supplier, which we had to match to take on the work.
With the Sitma polywrap line working in conjunction with our Set Master and our Norpak poly processor, we were able to complete the mailing to the client’s challenging timescale.
The client was informed throughout the mailing, and we worked very closely with them to ensure that they knew the status of the magazine at every stage. The client was sent photographs and texts out of hours, to their mind at rest.
Since the successful first mail out of the magazine, we are delighted to say that we have be awarded a multi year contract.
