2012 Christmas Stamps

As we approach Christmas, the Royal Mail has unveiled a series of Traditional Christmas Stamps that are now on sale. Axel Scheffler, a best-selling children’s illustrator, along with children’s author and poet, Tony Mitton were announced as the designers of the 2012 Christmas stamps.

Axel Scheffler said: “It’s been an interesting and enjoyable experience working with Royal Mail on developing the Christmas stamps. I hope they’ll add a little extra colour and fun to the festive season.”

Andrew Hammond, Royal Mail Stamps spokesperson, said: “Christmas is always a stamp issue we look forward to. This year we were delighted with the work produced by Axel. His charming style set the perfect tone for the stamps.”

The stamps feature; Father Christmas with a festive robin perching on his hand, a reindeer with decorated antlers, the usual differences set aside as a cat and mouse decorate a Christmas Tree, a Robin atop a sprig of holly bearing a star decoration in his beak and a snowman meeting a penguin. Don’t forget; if you want to create your own Christmas PPI, get in touch, and we can create a unique design to go onto your Christmas mailing.

We are sure these will lighten up people’s Christmas mailings, whether placed onto a Letter, Card or Envelope. It is always nice to add the seasonal touch
