Central Mailing Services invests £150k in new kit

Central Mailing Services has invested around £150,000 in a raft of new print equipment and software.

At Central Mailing Services, we are continually investing in new print equipment so we can keep delivering high quality mailing services. Whether it’s bringing processes in house to cut lead times or making sure our printing equipment is at the cutting edge of technology, we are committed to staying ahead of the game. To help us keep to this commitment, we have recently invested around £150,000 in brand new print equipment and software.

Our new machinery includes:

  • Morgana DocuMaster Pro
  • Xerox Versant 80 full-colour digital press
  • Xerox D110 monochrome digital press
  • An AMS tabbing machine

Xerox D110 monochrome digital press is an additional machine that will help us to increase our capacity. We already have a Nuvera 144 monochrome device on site.
The Xerox Versant 80 has been installed to replace a Konica Minolta bizhub Press C6000, helping us to keep our standards high and improve speed.
Managing Director Mitesh Chouhan says: “the quality of the Versant 80 is litho-like but because of the fiery performance pack it processes in seconds rather than hours.”
Both machines were purchased from Xerographic in Chelmsford, and have been with us since June/ July. Each one features Fiery DFE technology.

However, the Morgana DocuMaster Pro machine was installed in July and it has changed the way we are able to carry out booklet and brochure making processes. Nonetheless, we are now able to offer these in house, giving us complete control over quality and speed.

What people say:

“We were outsourcing digital print, when a client wanted a magazine, brochure or booklet made, because we weren’t happy with the quality of the standard bookletmaker that comes on the end of a digital press,” says Chouhan.

“We were looking for a bookletmaker that was automated, so that we wouldn’t have to manually feed, and one that could crease as well as fold at the same time, trim, perf and also square-back. However, that was a lot to ask from one piece of kit and Morgana were the only company that had that available in the DocuMaster Pro.”
Another recent project has involved the commission of a bespoke operating system. In short, it was created using an SQL platform. This will provide stock management for the 500+ pallets we store across our two sites.

At this current time, we employ 60 staff and have a £6.5m turnover. Generally speaking, we primarily work with B2B clients, small businesses, the performing arts sector and universities. Our new equipment will help us to expand even further.
