Clean drinking water
A 15 year old boy called Maxwell Kanengeya, wrote to us recently (2016). This was because we provided Cholera free, fresh clean drinking water to his village.
We want to thank young Maxwell for his beautifully written letter as well as Aquaid.
So many of us here in the United Kingdom take clean drinking water for granted, knowing how vital and precious providing a clean water source is to this young man and his village only pulls at the heart strings.
The Africa Trust works to bring sustainable solutions to poverty in Africa. Therefore includes establishing sustainable supplies of clean drinking water and decent sanitation.
Secondly, income generating projects are used to pay school fees, improve clinics and generate the funds needed to run orphanages.
Wealth creation is an important objective, with business skills training helping school leavers and villagers to start or expand profitable businesses.
Finally, solar projects are used to cut energy costs and create local employment. Funds are circulated to catalyse projects and are then extracted to establish new projects or to invest in expansion.
