Great Train Robbery – 50th Anniversary

The Great Train Robbery was committed in the early hours of August 8th, 1963 on the Bridego Railway Bridge at Sears Crossing in Ledburn near Cheddington in Buckinghamshire, England. Britains largest robbery at the time netted £2.6 million from a Glasgow to Euston Royal Mail train. Mastermind Bruce Reynolds and other members of the fifteen-strong criminal gang including Ronnie Biggs, Charlie Wilson and Buster Edwards, gained worldwide notoriety for eluding the British justice system in the years that followed.
