TTR Weekend Race Report

This is the second instalment of our series following Harrison and Total Trouble Racing on their journey.

Last weekend (15th & 16th september) Harrison competed in round 9 of the Shenington Kart Racing Club Championship. It was a great event and there were some real highlights.

Practise Day 1 – Saturday

The weekend started off with a practise and test day on the Saturday. It was a tricky start in, particularly low grip conditions. After a slow start, Harrison found his feet in the last session of the morning (practise 3) and set his fastest lap time on the track by over a second! He spent the remainder of the day practising with setup changes, putting him in a good position for the race event on Sunday.

Day 2 – The Main Event – Sunday

The event was very busy and competitive, with over 45 drivers entered in Harrison’s class. He competed really well over the 3 qualifying heats, making p a number of places in his first heat. The weekend culminated in a B final for Harrison. In a very competitive field, he drove very well, keeping out of trouble and pushing hard to finish 9th out of 12 Heat B qualifiers. This was his best result yet and given he is still a real newcomer to the sport, a marker of his progress.

Next Weekend

Next weekend Harrison travels to Whilton Mill, near Daventry to compete once more in a packed field. Best of luck Harrison!
