Shell Drivers’ Club

About the Client

Shell Drivers’ Club is a loyalty scheme that rewards drivers when they buy fuel, Helix oils, or clean their cars at a Shell Petrol Station. Each Quarter drivers receive a posted statement, which details their rewards based upon their spend. The amount spent by Drivers’ Club members coverts into Points which then earns them rewards. These rewards can be Money off Fuel Vouchers, In-Store Vouchers or selected deals from Partners of the Driver Club Scheme.

Details of the Work

Every Shell Drivers’ Club member will receive a posted statement in the form on an A5 folded booklet which is fully personalised, detailing the spend of the member, the rewards that this has generated, and targeted promotional messaging. Finished as a sealed A5 mailer, the membership reward statement is posted out 4 times per year.

The Solution From CMS

Membership Mailings continue to be a very important sector for Central Mailing Services. We work with a huge variety of membership-based organisations, from VIP memberships for Theatres, Event and Festival organisations, to Professional, Trade and Academic bodies. The mailings can vary in size from a few hundred items for smaller voluntary associations, to the million items plus for organisations such as Shell. The print and mailing work we undertake can vary from newsletters and reports to membership renewal forms and statements. For Shell, the work is required to be sent out according to their pre-planned schedules and must therefore be released on set dates. We work very closely with the postal provider to ensure that the work is pre forecast correctly and that their network is ready for the injection of a mailing of this volume. The design of the mail piece is sent to Central Mailing Services a number of weeks in advance, to allow us to provide a further check to ensure that the mailer is suitable for posting and has no technical or design issues. Due to the complex data side of these fully personalised mailings and each one being bespoke to the Drivers’ Club member, we must ensure that it all is correct for postage and Mailsort the data using our postal routing matrix to get the very best value for Shell.

Shell are extremely pleased with the way that Central Mailing Services handle the Drivers’ Club Mailings. Each member receives their own tailored statement with details of their rewards earned.
